The 14-year-old charged in connection with the murder of 25-year-old Lindsay Lemieux made a brief court appearance Thursday.

Lemieux was found stabbed to death in her Val Caron home on the morning of Nov. 10.

The court appearance was made to set a date for the youth’s bail hearing, however, it was determined by the court that more time would be required to deal with the matter and the youth was remanded to custody.

He will make his next appearance in court Jan. 3, 2008 following a case management conference Jan. 2.

Defence attorney Terry Waltenbury described a case management conference as “a meeting held with respect to cases that are generally expected to occupy a great deal of court time should they proceed to any sort of hearing.

“With those kinds of cases, it’s often requested by either the Crown or defence to have a case management meeting to make sure the matter moves along relatively quickly and that everybody is on the same page, depending on how much time is needed,” he added.
