Bill 73 is a provincial act designed to enhance the safety of children on our roads and becomes law on Sept. 1.

An overview of the bill reveals a mandatory use of booster seats, revisions to existing child restraint legislation and two additional demerit points for drivers who do not comply.

According to the legislation, children under 8 years of age, weighing between 40 and 80 lbs, standing less than 145 cm must be restraint with in an approved booster seat when traveling.
