The head of the Special Investigations Unit has decided all evidence points to suicide in the death of 42-year-old Chelmsford man Michael Karchie.
SIU director John A. Sutherland said no charges will be laid against Sudbury police officers who had the area around the house secured when Karchie suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the head.
The SIU investigation confirmed that at approximately 10:40 pm Oct. 2, police responded to a domestic dispute in Chelmsford.
