UPDATED - Feb. 1, 2:51 p.m.

Highway 69 was re-opened at 12:35 p.m. Jan. 31 after a collision on Highway 69 near Burwash which killed one person, and left another with serious injuries.

A  Chevrolet Blazer operated by Daniel "Shawn" Herbert, 43, of Owen Sound crossed into northbound traffic and struck a truck operated by Ron Lambert, 48, of Barrie, around 7:15 a.m.

Herbert was pronounced dead at scene, and Lambert was air-lifted to St. Joseph's Health Centre with serious injuries.

There were no passengers in either vehicle.

Road conditions were bare and wet at the time of the accident, and the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) do not believe weather or road conditions were a factor in the accident.

The OPP's collision reconstruction investigators continue to look into the accident. It has not been determined if alcohol is a factor.
