A fire, which broke out on Wednesday in the Champlain Lodge located at 82 Ignatius Street took the life of a male resident.
The fire started on the second floor in a room.
It was contained to just the one room.
One male employee of the facility suffered smoke inhalation injuries.
No names have been released.
The fire is under investigation by the Coroners Office, Ontario Fire Marshall's Office, Greater Sudbury Fire Services, Ministry of Labour, Electrical Safety Authority and the Greater Sudbury Police Service.
