Go-Ped According to police, both the Go-Ped and the Pocket Bike fall within the definition of a motor-vehicle pursuant to the Highway Traffic Act. They also fall within the definition of an off-road vehicle. Since they do not meet provincial equipment safety standards for on road use, the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) will not licence them for the road.

If one of these vehicles is caught being operated on a road or highway as defined by the Highway Traffic Act, the owner or operator is subject to a minimum fine of $5,000 for operating the vehicle without insurance. They may also be subject to charges for operating a motor vehicle without a permit or plates.
