Two Greater Sudbury police officers likely didn't expect a man to try to run them over, but on Oct. 12, a 49-year-old Sudbury man did just that. The two officers narrowly avoided being struck by the man's vehicle, according a police report.

The police did not pursue the vehicle, but later located it at a residence on Second Avenue. The man was arrested at that time. A search of the man following the arrest led to the discovery of a "flick knife," which police say is a prohibited weapon.

The suspect has been charged with dangerous driving, weapons dangerous, assault with a weapon (the vehicle), and possession of a prohibited weapon.
