Police find grow op during sudden death investigation

OPP officers were called to investigate a sudden death at a residence on Hwy. 535 in St. Charles during the early afternoon July 21. During the investigation police discovered the residence and property were being used to grow marijuana.

Officers from the Noelville OPP cluster, the Sudbury OPP drug enforcement unit, the Provincial Weapons Enforcement unit and the Sudbury OPP crime unit seized $660,000 worth of Marijuana plants, $15,000 worth of drug growing equipment and an illegally stored rifle.  An investigation into the marijuana grow op is ongoing.

A post mortem examination June 22 revealed the 49-year-old resident died of natural causes.

"The OPP would like to remind residents that if they see suspicious activity or plants that they suspect are marijuana, do not go near the area. Call your local police, the Ontario Provincial Police or Crime Stoppers," reads a release from OPP.
