Police investigate hit and run on Falconbridge Road

The Greater Sudbury Police Service is investigating a Pedestrian/ Motor vehicle collision that occurred on Feb. 1 at 11:35 pm at the intersection of Falconbridge Rd. and Pilotte St. in Garson. A female pedestrian walking on Falconbridge Rd.

The Greater Sudbury Police Service is investigating a Pedestrian/ Motor vehicle collision that occurred on Feb. 1 at 11:35 pm at the intersection of Falconbridge Rd. and Pilotte St. in Garson.

A female pedestrian walking on Falconbridge Rd. was struck by an SUV type vehicle as she was crossing Pilotte St.

The pedestrian was struck and landed on the travel portion of Falconbridge Road. The pedestrian managed to get off the road way and suffered a sore hip and side. The driver of the SUV drove off with out rendering any assistance or providing the pedestrian with any information.

The vehicle was described as silver or gray sport utility vehicle, with a square shaped front grill and square type head lights. The driver is described as a female mid-thirties with dark hair.

Police are requesting any one who might have witnessed the collision to phone the traffic management unit of the Greater Sudbury Police at 675 9171, ext. 2417.
