The Greater Sudbury Police Service is investigating two incidents where young girls, who were walking along the roadway, were subjected to viewing someone exposing themselves as they sat in vehicles.

The incidents occurred in the Levack and Chelmsford areas over the weekend. Although there are different descriptions for the suspects and the vehicles, police have not ruled out the possibility of the matters being linked.

In both cases, the young victims were asked to approach the vehicle by the male driver, who was alone in the car. The female victims range in age from seven to 17 years old.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 675-9171 or Crime Stoppers at 675-TIPS (8477).

Prevention tips:

Parents are asked to continue reminding their young children to not approach vehicles when they do not know the occupants.

If young persons are asked for directions or assistance from a stranger, they should quickly get to an area of safety, or a public place, and immediately tell someone they trust. If possible, they should try to obtain descriptions of the suspect and the vehicle – even partial plate information could be valuable.

It is also good to remind children not to give their name or address to strangers.
