Sudbury police and firefighters were called to a suspicious
apartment fire on the Kingsway at 4:45 am earlier today. 
An area resident had noticed the fire and smoke coming from a
window on the third floor.  He alerted his spouse to
contact 9-1-1 and then proceeded to the address and activated
the fire alarm.
The apartment was vacant at the time of the fire and no
injuries were reported by other residents of the
building.  The fire was contained to one apartment which
suffered severe smoke and fire damage. The hallway on the third
floor suffered minimal smoke damage.  
The scene is currently being secured awaiting the arrival of an
investigator from the Fire Marshal's Office to assist
Greater Sudbury Police with the investigation as the fire has
been deemed suspicious.
