Greater Sudbury Police are looking for three male suspects following the severe beating of another man Saturday evening around 9 pm near the railroad tracks on Elm Street downtown.

The victim was assaulted by the three men, who punched, kicked and cut the victim with broken beer bottles.

Items were taken from the victim, who suffered numerous cuts and abrasions, as well as injuries to his ribs and back.

The victim remains in hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

One suspect is a described as white, six-feet tall, about 180 pounds, bald with a tanned complexion. He is approximately 20 years of age and was wearing a light blue T-shirt.

The second suspec is white, six-feet-two with a slim build. He's approximately 25 years of age, with short brown hair.

The third victim is white and approximately 22 years of age with brown hair. He was wearing a blue plaid button-up sleeve shirt.

The victim and suspects had been at Bell Park prior to this incident and were on the main beach area near the pavilion.

Motorist collides with cyclist

A 14-year-old cyslist was rushed to hospital with serious, but non life-threatening injuries following a collision with a motor vehicle around 8:40 am Friday at the intersection of Dominion Drive and Hwy. 69 N in Valley East.

The car, operated by a 38-year-old female, was traveling southbound in the curb lane, when it struck the bicycle, who was riding westbound through the intersection.

The speed of the collision was minimal as the car driver has been stopped at a stop light seconds earlier.

The car driver did not sustain any injuries.

Police are looking to confirm the traffic light cycle at the time and are requesting that anyone who may have seen the youth on Dominion Drive prior
to the collision call 675-9171, ext. 2209.

Police remind all cyclists that helmets greatly reduce head injuries and anyone operating a bicycle under age 18 is required under the Highway Traffic Act to wear an approved helmet.
