Police say two recent assaults could be related

Greater Sudbury Police are currently investigating two separate assault incidents which took place between 9 and 10 pm on Nov. 8. The first incident took place in the area of Suffolk Lane.

Greater Sudbury Police are currently investigating two separate assault incidents which took place between 9 and 10 pm on Nov. 8.

The first incident took place in the area of Suffolk Lane. At approximately 9:10 pm, a female was about to enter her residence when a man grabbed her. A struggle ensued and the man immediately fled the area.

During the second incident, which occurred at approximately 9:45 pm, a woman was about to enter her apartment on Lasalle Blvd. when she was accosted. The apartment is located in the area of Lasalle Blvd. and Arthur St. A man approached the victim and grabbed her as she was about to unlock the door to the residence. After a brief struggle with the victim, the man fled the area.

Neither of the victims suffered any physical injuries as a result of the altercations with the man. The suspect is described by both witnesses as a white man, 25 to 30 years old, five-foot-eight to fiv-foot-nine with a medium build, short black hair and several days of facial hair growth. The suspect was wearing dark pants, a dark-coloured hooded sweater with white writing on the front.

Police are advising the public to be aware of their immediate surroundings and to report any suspicious activities.

Police are also exploring the possibility that the two incidents may be related and are seeking the public’s assistance.
