Police seek robbery suspect

The Greater Sudbury Police Service is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect of a robbery that occurred at Melvin’s Variety store on Melvin St on Oct. 3 at 7:15 am, said a news release.

The Greater Sudbury Police Service is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect of a robbery that occurred at Melvin’s Variety store on Melvin St on Oct. 3 at 7:15 am, said a news release.

The description of the suspect is:
* male, approximately 5' 7", 125 lbs.
* wearing a black sweatshirt that had a central zipper and a large black hooded portion - the hoody was pulled over his forehead down to his eyes and there was a light blue and white cloth covering his face. 
* he also wore blue baggy jeans and light coloured gloves
* carrying a piece of wood which resembled a shovel handle.

The suspect escaped with an undisclosed amount of money.  The store clerk was not injured.

Anyone with information is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers at 675-TIPS.
