A mock search scenario will be conducted by the Greater Sudbury Police Service in conjunction with the Ontario Provincial Police, Sudbury-Manitoulin Dementia Network and Extendicare York on Nov. 7 in the afternoon.
The scenario will focus on members of the Greater Sudbury Police Service conducting a mock search for a resident with Alzheimer’s disease who goes missing from Extendicare York.
The scenario will also serve as a platform to announce the creation of the Greater Sudbury Police Service Search and Rescue Unit and an opportunity to test a new Search and Rescue Manual that has been developed by members of the Greater Sudbury Police Service, Ontario Provincial Police and Sudbury Manitoulin Dementia Network, said a news release.
