The Greater Sudbury Police Service is reminding drivers of slippery road conditions today as the highways are wet and the temperature remains near the freezing mark. A number of collisions (not excessive but most due to black ice) have already been reported from various areas of the city.
Preventative tips:
- reduce your speed;
- increase your following distance;
- allow additional time to get to your destination;
- keep in mind that bridges and newly paved areas freeze quickly;
- avoid making sudden changes in steering.
