In an effort to reduce the number of ATV complaints the police receive, officers will continue to crack down on off-road lawlessness.

On Sept. 17, four people were charged for not having insurance while another two people were charged for driving their ATVs on the highway. One person was charged with failing to wear a proper helmet, while another was charged for not having a permit for their ATV.

In total, $860 in fines were handed out in the Val Caron and Hanmer area.

Police are reminding residents that off-road driving is not permitted on the highway and that all documentation must be handy while riding.
