Possible drowning on lake near Capreol

Greater Sudbury Police are searching for a 21-year-old Sudbury man after he went out on a canoe on Parkin Lake north of Capreol and did not return. Police were called just after midnight Aug. 31 to search for the man, who may have drowned.

Greater Sudbury Police are searching for a 21-year-old Sudbury man after he went out on a canoe on Parkin Lake north of Capreol and did not return.

Police were called just after midnight Aug. 31 to search for the man, who may have drowned.

Members of the Ontario Provincial Police recovery team are en route to the area to search for the man.

CFB Trenton supplied a helicopter to assist in the search for the man. Members of the emergency medical service are on the scene with an Argo to search the area.

More information will be supplied by police as it becomes available.

The missing man's identity is being withheld at this time.
