The Greater Sudbury Police Service is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the people responsible for committing mischief to vehicles and property with paintball guns.

Between Oct. 5 and Oct. 8, unknown individuals used paintball guns to cause damage to property in Rayside-Balfour.  There were nine complaints received to date from area homeowners.  It is believed that the suspects were in a vehicle when the incidents occurred though it is unknown at this time if the same individuals are responsible for every complaint.

In addition to the damage that is caused by this type of weapon, there is also potential for serious injuries to anyone who might be struck by paintball gun projectiles, said a news release.

Police ask that anyone using and/or transporting this type of weapon should do so safely.

Anyone with information should phone police at 675-9171 or Crime Stoppers at 675-TIPS.
