The Government of Ontario has increased a reward for information regarding the investigation into the triple-fatality that took place almost a year ago on Sunday July 31, 2005, on Highway 17 (The Trans Canada Highway), approximately 12 kilometres west of North Bay.

The reward has been increased to $50,000 from the previous $25,000.

The collision claimed the lives of 15-year-old Melanie Savord of North Bay, Kimberly Oancia, 40, of Sudbury, and 37-year-old Brian Dugas of Sudbury.

Police say this investigation remains active and investigators are continuing to seek witness accounts and tips from the public.

Police want information about the identity of the driver in a green van observed traveling eastbound in the westbound lane that forced the driver of a Silver Hyundai to take evasive action.

The green van stopped when the collision occurred and subsequently drove off.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the North Bay OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Near North Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
