An accident just after 1:30 p.m. on Jan. 14 has resulted in multiple charges for the driver, a 33-year-old Sault Ste. Marie woman.

Greater Sudbury police responded to a single-vehicle accident on Regional Road 55, at Simon Lake Road in Naughton. The woman was on scene, being treated for minor injuries.

Officers suspected the woman was impaired, and a road-side blood alcohol test was administered. The woman registered a fail, and was arrested.

A secondary, more in-depth test was performed at police headquarters, where the accused registered blood alcohol levels more than twice the legal limit.

She has been charged with operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol level over 80.

In addition, it was determined the woman was on probation in the Sault Ste. Marie jurisdiction, and has been further charged with breaching her probation order.
