Series of Copper Cliff arsons has police worried

The Greater Sudbury Police Service has been actively investigating a series of suspicious fires in the Copper Cliff area. The fires have been deliberately set and usually involved garbage bins, vehicles and garages.

The Greater Sudbury Police Service has been actively investigating a series of suspicious fires in the Copper Cliff area. The fires have been deliberately set and usually involved garbage bins, vehicles and garages.

There have been almost two dozen deliberately set fires in the past several months and police are extremely concerned another fire may eventually lead to serious injuries and or substantial property damage.

It is believed that the individual responsible for the fires resides in the Copper Cliff area.

Police are asking the public to be extra vigilant for suspicious activity in the Copper Cliff area and immediately report anything observed to police by calling 911.

The public is reminded to observe for the following which will be of assistance to police; description of suspect, direction of travel and any associated vehicle.
