St. John's school locked down, police respond to threat

Greater Sudbury police responded to a threatening complaint in Garson at approximately 7:40 am on Nov. 6. There was reference to a firearm when the threat was reported to police.

Greater Sudbury police responded to a threatening complaint in Garson at approximately 7:40 am on Nov. 6.  There was reference to a firearm when the threat was reported to police.  Officers attended the complainant’s home and later located the suspect’s vehicle on William St. and set up containment at that residence. 

As a precaution St John’s School, located on William St. was locked down and buses destined for the school were rerouted and sent to the Garson Arena.  A portion of William St. was also blocked off.

At approximately 10:10 am, officers entered the home and located a deceased male.

Due to the fact that police had maintained containment on the residence, the Special Investigative Unit was contacted and will take carriage of the investigation.

The school lock-down was lifted at approximately 10:20 am.
