Stolen car recovered but suspects still at large

Update - Greater Sudbury Police have recovered the stolen 1996 silver Honda Accord taken from Toronto. Police are still searching for the the female and male suspects thought to be responsible for a theft of gas on Regent St. on Sunday and a shoplifting incident on The Kingsway on Monday. 

The Greater Sudbury Police Service is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying two suspects, a male and a female, who were observed in the Sudbury area. 

The individuals are responsible for a theft of gas incident on Feb. 10 on Regent St. and a shoplifting incident on Feb. 11 at a store on the Kingsway.  They are travelling in a stolen 1996 silver Honda Accord, taken from Toronto on Jan. 30.  On the car, there is a visible red mark on the rear right corner of the vehicle on the bumper portion approximately 6 inches long

The suspects were stopped by officers on February 12 on Brady St.  During the stop, the occupants were asked to exit the vehicle. They refused and the driver drove off after colliding with a police cruiser.

Suspect 1 – Female Caucasian, approx. 5’4”, long brown hair, early 20’s, last seen wearing a black and red winter hooded jacket, black on the top shoulder half and red on the bottom torso area.

Suspect 2 – Male Caucasian, head shaved bald.

Anyone with information as to the identity of the suspects or their whereabouts is asked to phone police or Crime Stoppers at 675-TIPS.
