Stolen goods, firearms found inside vehicle

A speeding vehicle was pulled over by Greater Sudbury Police near Laval Street early in the morning on Oct. 12. The vehicle was occupied by three teens, who falsely identified themselves to the officer.

The vehicle was occupied by three teens, who falsely identified themselves to the officer.

Investigation revealed that the vehicle had been stolen earlier that morning. Also inside the vehicle were goods reported stolen from vehicles in the areas of Gateway and Long Lake Roads.

Two firearms, also stolen, were found unsecured within the vehicle. They were recovered by police.

The three teens have been charged with theft over $5,000, obstructing police, possession of stolen property, unauthorized possession of a firearm and several breach-related charges.

The 16-year-old boy who was driving the vehicle has also been charged with dangerous driving.

The boy and the two girls who were also in the vehicle are being held in custody until their bail hearing on Oct. 13.

Greater Sudbury Police are asking residents of the Long Lake and Gateway Roads area to check their vehicle for missing items and to contact police if they believe that items are missing.
