Sudbury superintendent becomes chief

Greater Sudbury Police Service (GSPS) Superintendent Allan Lekun has been appointed to the position of Interim Chief of Police of the West Nipissing Police Service for a six-month period, beginning Sept. 17. Lekun is a 20-year veteran of the GSPS.

Greater Sudbury Police Service (GSPS) Superintendent Allan Lekun has been appointed to the position of Interim Chief of Police of the West Nipissing Police Service for a six-month period, beginning Sept. 17.

Lekun is a 20-year veteran of the GSPS. He has held both operational and administrative positions within the police service. He also holds a masters degree in business administration from Laurentian University.

“This interim appointment has provided Superintendent Lekun an excellent opportunity,” said Sudbury Chief of Police Ian Davidson.

“The Greater Sudbury Police Services Board and I have the utmost confidence in his abilities to work closely with the West Nipissing Police Services Board and members of their police service to move this organization forward in a positive fashion.”
