A 23-year-old Whitefish Lake First Nation man was charged June 13 with possession of uttering threats and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose after he allegedly threatened other residents of the community with a compound bow and a large knife.
Members of the Ontario Provincial Police arrived in the community at about 10:30 p.m., and were able to arrest the man at around 6:30 a.m. June 14.
Police seized two compound bows and a large military-type knife. Nobody was injured in the incident.
The suspect was due to appear in bail court June 15.
