Suspect trying to avoid police hurt during break and enter

Around 4 am Tuesday, Greater Sudbury Police responded to a break and enter in progress on Nelson Street in downtown Sudbury. Once they were at the scene, officers observed a male party inside the residence.

Once they were at the scene, officers observed a male party inside the residence. When officers attempted to arrest the male at the scene, he ran through a picture window in an attempt to escape.

This caused the window to break and caused injuries to the suspect's face.

The male was then arrested and taken into custody.

Charged with break and enter, mischief, assaulting police and resisting arrest is Kenneth Lavis, 36. Lavis is being held in custody until he receives a bail hearing.
