A Capreol man has been caught once again behind the wheel of a motor vehicle after numerous court visits prohibiting him from driving.

On Sept. 29, around 3 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle on Municipal Road 84 in Valley East. They found the driver was prohibited from driving as a result of two suspension orders from the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario.

Further investigation showed the man had been released from custody on June 27, on a recognizance of bail, as a result of being charged with two counts of driving under suspension.

One of the conditions of his release was that he not operate a motor vehicle.  During the June 2008 investigation, the accused’s vehicle was seized by police and not released.

As a result of Monday’s investigation, the 31-year-old man was taken into police custody and is facing charges of breach of recognizance, as well as two counts of drive while under suspension. Police have also seized the vehicle.
