At approximately 7 pm Saturday, Rayside-Balfour Fire Services were dispatched to a barn fire at 3940 Municipal Road 15 in Chelmsford.
The barn was fully engulfed when fire services arrived.
Witnesses reported seeing three male youths fleeing the scene just prior to the blaze erupting.
A police investigation revealed the youths were in fact, responsible for starting the fire and they were subsequently apprehended.
The barn was apparently used to store vehicles, vessels and equipment and there were no injuries reported. The monetary value of the loss incurred is unknown.
Three male youths have been charged with arson. The accused parties can not be identified due to the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
