Truck crashes into Melvin Street building

A building on Melvin Street was damaged Jan. 10 at around 4 a.m. after a pickup truck crashed into it. The 22-year-old man driving the truck was unable to stop at a stop sign, and struck the residence.

A building on Melvin Street was damaged Jan. 10 at around 4 a.m. after a pickup truck crashed into it.

The 22-year-old man driving the truck was unable to stop at a stop sign, and struck the residence.

Nobody was seriously injured in the incident, although “numerous” people living in the building had to be relocated with the help of the Red Cross, according to a press release put out by Greater Sudbury Police.

The incident is still under investigation by police. Alcohol was not a factor.
