A 19-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy are facing more than 60 charges after a nine-hour crime spree which began Jan. 13 around 9 pm.

The accused started the spree at a building on Paris St., where police allege mischief took place. The 16-year-old has also been charged with cruelty to animals for kicking a dog several times.

A few minutes later, the pair allegedly pulled the fire alarm at a neighbouring 17-floor apartment building. The entire building had to be evacuated. Police say the two suspects then made their way to the Holiday Inn where they stole a vehicle.

The pair would then proceed to commit a break, enter and theft at a business on Regent St. As they left the scene, their stolen car collided with a vehicle in the parking lot. While driving down Long Lake Rd., the suspects rolled the car.

The pair then attempted to steal two more vehicles. During the second attempt, one of the suspects was apprehended while the other fled the scene.

Police say nine officers were involved in the different investigations. They were able to link the night's events together and identify the second suspect who was arrested Jan. 15.
