Victim identified in Bessie St. stabbing

A 20-year-old man became Greater Sudbury's second homicide victim of 2006 after suffering a single puncture wound to his back the morning of Nov. 24. The victim has been identified as Gavin Nettagog of Sudbury.

A 20-year-old man became Greater Sudbury's second homicide victim of 2006 after suffering a single puncture wound to his back the morning of Nov. 24. 

The victim has been identified as Gavin Nettagog of Sudbury. 

Police received a complaint shortly after midnight of a stabbing incident on Bessie St. The victim was transported to St. Joseph's Health Centre where he succumbed to his injuries. Police believe the fatal wound was caused by an edged weapon.

A 27-year-old Sudbury man, Nicholas Nootchtai (aka Smith) was arersted at his residence at 223 Jean St. He is being held for bail and has been charged with first degree murder and breach of probation. A female was also arrested along with Nootchtai, but has since been released.

The investigation is ongoing.
