A man is facing a drug charge after being stopped by Ontario Provincial Police officers while walking on Nipissing Street in Sturgeon Falls on Feb. 11.

West Nipissing Ontario Provincial Police said an officer spotted what they described as “a known person” walking along Nipissing Street at 9 p.m. on Sunday.

“Police arrested the individual for breaching their conditions from a previous release order,” police said. “Drugs suspected to be methamphetamine were seized during a search of the person.”

The 41-year-old West Nipissing resident is charged with possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking and failure to comply with a release order.

The accused was held for bail court, with a scheduled appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in West Nipissing on Feb. 12.
