Greater Sudbury Police are looking for two men with a history of violent crime who are believed to be the Sudbury area.

MacDonald
The province?s Provincial Repeat Offender-Parole Enforcement Unit (ROPE) informed Greater Sudbury Police that Kenneth MacDonald and Neil Young both failed to return to the same halfway house in Toronto.

Police say they don?t believe Young, 33, and MacDonald, 38, are together, even though they do know each other and were at the same halfway house.

MacDonald failed to return to the halfway house after being released on a daily work permit for employment at a Toronto roofing company. A warrant for his arrest was obtained July 25.

Young didn?t return after being released on a temporary absence program and an arrest warrant was issued on May 23.

Young
MacDonald is currently bound by a 10-year long-term supervision order, which expires in 2013.

He has more than three dozen convictions, including many for violent assaults.

Young also has a long history of criminal behaviour.

Both men are considered a danger to public safety, and members of the public are asked to not approach them and call police immediately.

MacDonald is described as five-foot-seven, 190 pounds with long, curly brown hair, brown eyes and numerous tattoos.

Young is described as five-foot-eleven, 190 pounds, with a moustache and goatee beard, with short brown hair, hazel eyes and numerous tattoos.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Greater Sudbury Police at 675-9171 or members of the ROPE squad at 1-866-870-7673.

The two men were still at large as of Northern Life?s deadline on Friday.
