A little boy was assaulted by an adult woman on Sept. 9 around 8 p.m. The woman struck the victim several times with a tree branch.
Police responded and their investigation resulted in the arrest of the woman, who is known to the victim. The victim sustained minor injuries that did not require medical attention.
The incident occurred in the area of Second Avenue in the City of Greater Sudbury.
The accused is charged with assault with a weapon and was released from police custody with conditions.
