Family and friends gathered at a church in Sturgeon Falls today to remember a Sudbury woman who was killed in a motor accident last Saturday.

Carmen Hunter, 56, was killed in a fatal accident on Highway 17 at the southeast bypass.

She is survived by her husband, Paul, her son, Alain Rousseau, and his wife, Natalie, and six siblings.

Hunter was a well-known hairstylist who worked at Paulette and Friends.

At approximately 8:30 last Saturday morning Hunter was travelling eastbound on Highway 17, when the vehicle she was operating crossed the centre line and collided with a westbound vehicle.

Hunter was transported to the St. Josephs Health Centre and succumbed to her injuries.

The driver of the second vehicle, a Wahnapitae woman, was also transported to the St. Josephs Health Centre with non-life threatening injuries.

A prayer service will be held for Hunter at All Nations Church this Saturday at 1 pm.
