Youth arrested after fleeing police

Driving the wrong way down a one way street resulted in several charges after Greater Sudbury police arrested a 17-year-old Sudbury youth for doing just that. The police spotted the vehicle around 11:30 p.m. on Oct. 12 in the Flour Mill area.

The police spotted the vehicle around 11:30 p.m. on Oct. 12 in the Flour Mill area. They followed the vehicle as it left the area at a high rate of speed.

Officers approached the youth after he parked at a private residence. After identifying themselves, the youth fled.

Police tracked the youth down after bringing in the canine unit, and the young man was arrested.

The youth's name is being withheld, as he is a minor. He has been charged with possession of stolen property, driving while disqualified, and three counts of breach of sentence order.
