Youth caught in possession of drugs: police

On Dec.18 at approximately 6 p.m., Greater Sudbury police stopped a vehicle for speeding on Paris Street, in the area of Regent Street.
On Dec.18 at approximately 6 p.m., Greater Sudbury police stopped a vehicle for speeding on Paris Street, in the area of Regent Street.

Upon stopping the vehicle, the officers "made observations that resulted in them having grounds to believe that the male youth operating the vehicle was in possession of marihuana," according to police.

A search of the vehicle and suspect resulted in the seizure of 242 grams, with an estimated street value of $2420.00 and $500 cash.

The youth was released from Police custody while charged with possession of a controlled Substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime, according to police.
