Sudbury police arrested a youth under the age of 18 on weapons charges last week after receiving a tip from the public.
Upon arrival in the Tanguay and Brebeuf St area, officers arrested the youth, who cannot be named under Canadian law, and recovered a sawed off shotgun.
The youth is charged with possession of a prohibited weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of weapons dangerous to the public police, careless use of a firearm, possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized and resisting arrest.
The accused appeared in bail court last week.
