Youths robbed; air pellet pistol, knife threats

Members of the Greater Sudbury Police Service were dispatched to a weapons’ complaint that occurred in the area of Spruce St. and Whittaker St. on March 27 at approximately 7:25 pm.

Three boys, ages 11, 12 and 13, reported being approached by three males in their late teens to early 20s, who were accompanied by three females and a young child.

One male suspect is alleged to have used a soft plastic air pellet pistol to shoot at the victims, though no injuries were sustained. Another male suspect then lifted his sweater and displayed a knife to the victims, taking a $10 bill from the hand of one of the youngsters.

All three male suspects are described as Caucasian, 17 – 20 years of age and all were wearing black baseball caps. One was wearing a sweater with silver crown emblems dangling from it, 5’8” with slim build and carrying a knife in a black case. Another had black hair, a short goatee and was in possession of a black air pellet pistol. The third suspect was wearing a black hoodie.

Two of the females were described as Aboriginal and the third was Caucasian.  No further description is available.
