Track North's Caroline Ehrhardt, a Grade 11 student at Espanola High School, won gold at the prestigious National Scholastic Indoor Track and Field Championships held in New York City this past weekend.
Competing against the best high school competition in North America, Ehrhardt found herself in third place going into the final round, however she saved her best jump for last as she leapt 12.20 metres on her final attempt to move into the gold medal position.
This jump is the best triple jump by any Canadian of any age so far this season. Ehrhardt finished 3rd at last year's Olympic Trials competition in Windsor.
