The Greater Sudbury Cubs welcome the Soo Eagles to the Gerry McCrory Countryside Sports Complex for a Jan. 25 tilt at 7:05 p.m.

“The Cubs will be looking to remain at the top of the NOJHL West Division standings with a big win on Thursday night,” the team said in a news release. “The Cubs have won all three games played against the Soo Eagles and have outscored the Michigan franchise 18-7 in the process.

The Cubs are currently tied with the Blind River Beavers for first place overall with 64 points. Both teams have 17 games remaining.

The team has also moved up two spots in national rankings and are now ranked No. 13 in the country after earning a split in two games last week against the Soo Thunderbirds.

“Cubs captain Oliver Smith had a solid week, recording three assists in two games while returnee Nolan Newton scored his 20th goal of the season,” the team said. “The goal proved to be the  game winner for the Cubs. Newton has scored four game winning goals this season.”

Tickets are available at the door for Thursday night’s home game at a cost of $15 for adults, $10 for juniors and seniors and $5 for children.
