It’s all come down to this. Starting Thursday night, the Greater Sudbury Cubs and the Powassan Voodoos will begin the battle to see who will skate away with the 2023-24 Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League crown.

Sudbury fans are in luck as the first two games in the race for the Copeland Cup – McNamara Trophy will be played at the Gerry McCrory Countryside Sports Complex.

The first game in the best-of-seven series gets underway Thursday, April 18. Puck drops at 7:05 p.m. Game 2 will also be played in Sudbury. That one goes Friday night, also with a 7:05 p.m. puck drop.

After the second game, the teams will get a brief, one day break before the action shifts to Powassan for Game 3 and Game 4.

Game 3 goes Sunday at 2 p.m., while Game 4 is slated for Monday at 7 p.m.

If a fifth game is necessary (and the Cubs will do everything they can to ensure that it isn’t), it will be played Thursday, April 25, at Countryside, starting at 7:05 p.m.

Should a sixth contest be required it’ll go Sunday, April 28, in another 2 p.m. matinee at the Sportsplex.

Game 7, if needed, will be played in Sudbury on April 30, with a 7:05 p.m. puck-drop.

All contests in the league final will also be streamed live, and on demand, via FLOHockey.tv.

The NOJHL champion will move on to compete in the Centennial Cup, to be played May 9-19, in Oakville.
