Five win in dominating fashion against Jackals

The Sudbury Five were at home on Saturday night looking to entertain 2,373 fans as they were taking on New York’s Jamestown Jackals. 

At the Feb. 24 game, Sudbury got the start they were looking for on the offensive side of the ball by scoring 36 points in the quarter with help from A.J. Mosby Jr., (24 points total in the game) and Raymar Morgan (17 points in the game) and held a lead of 36-28 after the first 12 minutes of play. 

The Five’s offensive output slowed down in the second quarter, scoring just 26 points in the quarter to Jamestown’s 27, but still held a 62-55 lead over the visiting team heading into halftime. 

Sudbury once again found their rhythm in the third quarter right out of the halftime break and scored 38 points in the quarter with contributions from Landon Kirkwood (17 points in the game) and Cody John (14 points in the game) and with one quarter remaining in the game the Sudbury Five lead the Jamestown Jackals by a score of 100-83. 

The Sudbury Five saved their best quarter on the defensive side of the ball for last, allowing only 25 points while scoring 33 of their own to cap off a 133-108 victory over the Jamestown Jackals. 

With the victory, the Five hold a record of 10 wins and six losses on the season. 

The Sudbury Five are right back at it on Sunday afternoon in a rematch against the Jamestown Jackals with tip off scheduled for 2 p.m.
