Seven past and present NHL hockey stars hit the green at Timberwolf Golf Club on Wednesday for the 12th annual NHL Legends of the Game Golf Tournament.

Jerry Toppazzini, Bobby Chaumont, Matt Albiani, Craig Duncanson, Andrew Desjardins, Danny McCourt and Kyle Tarini participated in the event, which was hosted by the Human League Association.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the (Human League’s) Breakfast Club for Kids and the P.L.A.Y program (Positive Leisure Activities for Youth), said Paul Brokenshire, executive director of the The Human League Association.

The organization provides breakfast for about 5,000 youth in the area every day, he continued, and it takes about 320 volunteers to deliver these meals.

The P.L.A.Y. program subsidizes sports fees for children whose parents can’t afford to pay them.

Although the tournament offers many prizes, the most important aspect is that it offers people the opportunity to help out underprivileged children in the area, Brokenshire said.
