Former Wolves player signs professional contract in Europe

Former Sudbury Wolves forward Gerome Giudice has signed a professional contract with European hockey club Fassa Levoni, according to a press release from the club's president, Roberto Ongari.

Former Sudbury Wolves forward Gerome Giudice has signed a professional contract with European hockey club Fassa Levoni, according to a press release from the club's president, Roberto Ongari.

Giudice, 19, is an Italian-Canadian who was born in Acton, Ont. He played with the Wolves for four years, serving as team captain for the latter two years.

In the 2008-09 season, Giudice collected 27 points in 55 games, with 10 goals, 17 assists and 109 penalty minutes. His best season, according to a press release, was the 2007-08 season when he earned 44 points in 64 games with 15 goals, 29 assists and 141 penalty minutes.

Following his OHL career, Giudice made his first step into the professional ranks, signing on with IHL team the Muskegon Lumberjacks, based in Michigan. He made his pro debut with the team on April 3, 2009.

Ongari describes Giudice as “very promising,” with lots of speed, personality, and strong character.

“He is also a reliable gambler on the ice, ... and drove his squad to the conquest of the OHL Eastern Conference.”
