Despite driving rain, supporters of the Sudbury SPCA participated in the Strokes for Furry Folks Golf Tournament at the Pine Grove Golf Club June 28. Seventy-two people were signed up for the event.

For $50, participants were able to play nine holes of golf and eat dinner later at Buzzy Browns. Last year's tournament brought in more than $2,000, and organizers expect the same from this year's event.

All of the funds raised will go to support the activities of the Sudbury SPCA, including a shelter for homeless animals and investigations into cruelty against animals.
