Television viewers from across Greater Sudbury will have their opportunity to show our community has the best and most passionate hockey fans in the country tonight.

Greater Sudbury will be featured on CBC's Kraft Hockeyville 2006 on
at 8 pm. This prime time television series showcases the search for the Canadian community that best embodies the spirit of hockey and hometown pride.

The winning community will receive the honour of hosting a live NHL exhibition game, $25,000 in arena upgrades and $10,000 in hockey equipment.

"This series requires viewers to call and vote for the community they believe should be named Hockeyville,"said Greater Sudbury Mayor David Courtemanche, in a news release.

"Each week, the communities with the highest number of votes move
on to the next round. I encourage you to tune in, cheer on Greater
Sudbury, and place your votes for our local teams. Let's show Canada our hockey spirit! My Sudbury is Hockeyville."
