The Hanson Brothers brought old time hockey back to the Sudbury Arena for a couple of hours Wednesday night as they kicked off the annual Big Nickel Hockey Tournament with a charity hockey game that was raising funds for the House of Kin and community sports.

"We get a lot of smiles from the fans, that means a lot to us, from the movie we made 30 years ago and we can put a smile on peoples faces. We go out there and have a good time and enjoy it just as much as they do," said Jeff Carlson, who plays one of the Hanson brothers.

"It was my dad's wish before he passed away that the Big Nickel Tournament, which he started for me 29 years ago,  would be opened by the Hanson Brothers," said Scott McCrory, Gerry's son.

"We put a little twist on it by instead of having them come and drop the puck for the opening face off we'd have a charity game to raise money for one of the charity's that he stood behind and donated money from the Big Nickel to the House of Kin."
